Overall I loved the concept of talent profile, it lets one build a portfolio and get noticed in the community and also it makes it easier for the folks that are looking for talents. I found some cons that could be fixed easily and thus could increase UI/UX.
Profile Creation Flow:
- During the profile creation process the form demands the input of the current employer and that field is “required”. It poses a problem for people who are currently unemployed or are not part of any organization. My suggestion would be to make it not a “required” field or provide an option for not working folks. When I enter something like “None”, its displayed in profile page which does not look good.
- “Community affiliations” is also a “required” field. People who are new to superteam platform might not know about affiliations, it’s a better idea to have an info button or link that would provide required information about community affiliations.
- For the “ Sub Skills” field the options are limited. It lacks many popular frameworks like Next.Js, React Native etc. I would suggest including a typed input feature that takes any skills mentioned.
Your Own Profile:
- In the “Details” section you can see how the “Works at” label looks ridiculous for a non employee. The fix would be to make it optional.
- In the “Skills” section the display of skills is quite irregular due to lack of relevant options available while creating a profile. The fix would be to allow users to input any skill.
- And the community affiliation is not displayed.
- In the socials section it would be better to remove inactive links.
Someone Else's Profile:
- Implementing the fixes I mentioned above would improve the UI of someone’s public profile too.
